It is a truth, universally acknowledged that we will at some point find ourselves working at a desk with an inappropriately positioned monitor. You find yourself adjusting yourself and your posture to suit the position of the screen and not the other way around; We hunch, we crane our necks and find ourselves eventually doing a fairly faithful impression of Quasimodo. We end up doing this for hours at a time and this leafs onto neck, back and eye strain. If this is not remedied then it can lead to musculoskeletal problems which require time off and rest in order to remedy.
This is where an adjustable monitor arm is vital and can make a huge difference to your working life. If an employee can adjust their monitor/s to their own requirements it means work will not be as uncomfortable and you remove the threat of at least some of the dangers that we have described. We would always recommend taking some time away from your monitor and desk in order to rest your eyes, stretch your limbs and raid the biscuit tin (though not too often on the last one!)
To reduce the impact of musculoskeletal injuries and the impact that sedentary behaviour can havethe, we realise the need to deploy ergonomic furniture and wellness initiatives has never been greater. This is always at the heart of what we do at JPA for our clients and also for our staff. As individuals and companies start to adopt new working styles and furniture solutions, such as sit-stand desking, the connection between the person and their technology can be easily forgotten.
If you or your business requires some help with achieving the ideal workspace to minimise the risks of musculoskeletal issues, then please get in touch and we will see how we can help you. Give us a call on 01727 840 800 or send us an email to email@example.com
