What have we been up to during COVID-19

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, JPA Workspaces have remained open, devoting all available resources to the NHS during this period. 

Beyond that, as a business, JPA have donated logistical services, manpower, storage and support in moving vital medical equipment between hospitals, as well as donating furniture for doctors’ and nurses’ wellbeing.  In particular we are still in the process of helping the Team at Lister Hospital with a ‘Changing Rooms’ style makeover during the pandemic, transforming a tired and worn space into badly needed area where Doctors and Nurses can take a break between shifts to refuel, recharge and rest.

When approached by Beth McNeil the Head of Charity at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, we were delighted to try and help and also to try and enlist the support of other companies to make a bigger immediate impact.   That’s when we approached Alison at the Herts Chamber, who then joined in by putting out an SOS for assistance to all their members – a fantastic example of community collaboration and teamwork.

The following companies have been outstanding in coming forwards to offer their services for this project and to date include: Ian and Brian at Selby Flooring, Sue at Amra Skincare, Michael at London Luton Airport, Alysoun at Rhubarb Seating, Katrina at Garrards of Stevenage, Katrina at Emmaus, Paul at Mainrock, Mark at ATGSpectrum and Mike at Pledge.   A big thank you to them all and to Alison and Sarah at the Chamber.  Works offered by these companies include decorating, new carpet supply, furniture, pictures and accessories, hand cream and room diffusers, site visit and surveys and some of the results so far can be seen from the attached images.

Our workforce, including members of our management team, have taken it upon themselves to personally deliver and assemble donated furniture so that it can be used and enjoyed right now, by the most important key workers in the country.  They have also met some of the doctors and nurses and been able to show our appreciation as a company and as individuals.
