The ground breaking UCL Student Centre opened its doors on 18th February 2019. This is the first building designed and dedicated solely for the use of students on such a large scale.
Located on Gordon Street in the heart of UCL's prestigious central campus, the Student Centre provides a mix of learning spaces, creating different types of individual study and group collaboration settings, as well as more social learning environments. With 1000 new ’study seats’ created over eight floors the project is a focal point for university study and events.
JPA were first involved after winning the furniture tender in 2017 and are delighted that after two years, the finished and furnished building is probably even better than the original vision! All JPA installation work was overseen by Matthew Janes, our dedicated JPA Project Manager and completed to agreed timescales, budget and designs agreed with stakeholders. Our Managing Director, Graham Pulsford visited site in January for final handover and sign off and was delighted to receive the following comments:
‘I would like to thank you and your team for all their hard work and professional attitude regarding the furniture installation within the Student Centre for UCL. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with you over the past weeks, where you have definitely gone above and beyond my expectations.
Thank you for delivering smooth transition from delivery to fit out, showing respect for the building, students and UCL staff. I look forward to working with you again in the future’ Clerk of Works.
