So we joined in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 29th September at our St Albans offices welcoming all bakers, fakers and in-betweeners! This was in support of one of our most loved company charities, Macmillan Cancer Research.

Having held and participated in many of these over the last few years, the simple genius of the idea to raise money for a great cause through eating cake does not diminish. It’s social, fun and very tasty! In hindsight, we should have asked for donations per bite instead of per slice as we’re such great cake lovers at JPA.
Macmillan Cancer Research is just one of the charities identified by our cross-departmental CSR team. The team have worked together this year to identify a small number of local, regional and national organisations for focused support and community partnering across various ways of giving to consolidate and formalise our efforts for greater impact. Activities include donating, fundraising, skilled and unskilled volunteering and gifting of furniture or services, varying from quarter to quarter.

We aim to organise and complete at least two activities per quarter, a more strategic approach enabling better focus and reporting. Other activities completed by the team this quarter include participation in the Tim Bloyce Football Tournament and furniture donations to One YMCA and Herts Community Foundation Trust and Keech Hospice.
Our CSR strategy is by no means complete but it is evolving, developed by our teams and highlighting organisations close to their hearts. It will continue to develop and compliment our business purpose which is to make a positive difference as a consequence of our business activity.
