At JPA Furniture, we are amazed and delighted to have been nominated for three different business awards in 2016. Each of the three awards that we have been nominated for confirms that the investment we have made into operating sustainably and responsibly, is the right way to go.
Initially we were encouraged by Catherine Ross, chair of Sustainable St Albans Week to enter the Third Sector Business Charity Awards in January 2016, and have now been nominated as a finalist for the Best CSR Team which is a huge honour - included in the team are James Crome, Chris Holder and Fiona Edwards. What makes this more impressive is that this is a national competition and we are short-listed alongside Npower, so we’re very excited – the awards event is on 20th April and we will be attending.
The second award that we have been nominated for is the National Recycling Awards, Waste Prevention Award, and this is for the unique work that we have been doing in recycling redundant office furniture back into the community, giving it a second life. Most of this furniture is collected when we are delivering new furniture and we have been piloting re-use projects with community organisations to reduce waste and landfill. This award is also National and we have to go through a second stage interview for this on May 20th, so fingers crossed.
Finally, we were delighted to have been nominated as a finalist for the Hertfordshire Inspire Awards, for the Environmental Award where we have showcased all elements of our sustainable operation, products and services.
Graham Pulsford, Managing Director of JPA says “Our task is to reduce operational waste and energy whilst actively growing our business and developing the opportunities that a sustainable approach can deliver. By embracing the benefits of a local approach we have improved our service levels, developed new clients, products and services and increased our positive impact across the community.”
